IGN calls the game “Cygnus Cross’ debut title”.

Self-publishing has one very practical consequence: the same team sets both the communication and the update cadence.

It also explains a phrase that keeps recurring in their Q&A — “we’d rather not do it until we can do it right”, and “we’re very aware of scope creep”. Slow, but internally consistent.

What CohhCarnage actually does

This is the most-asked question about the game, and the answer has two layers.

Backed by official or press sources:

  • Games outlet GosuGamers reports that Cygnus Cross is a studio co-owned by CohhCarnage, who is also “wearing a bunch of hats” during development.
  • In the official Q&A, Cohh introduces studio head Brin as “the guy that brought me into the project”.
  • The studio has published alongside CohhCarnage since 2023: State of the Game #1, the FAQ event, the live showcase for the new trailer.

Only claimed by creators:

  • Creator Mobalytics, who had hands-on access, describes CohhCarnage as a co-founder and one of two game directors, in daily contact with the team on combat systems and voice direction.
  • The official site publishes no staff directory, so treat that layer as a creator claim rather than studio confirmation.

Publicly visible team roles

Names that appear in the official Q&A:
